Visit Troop 77

Please reach out to us if you would like to visit the Troop because our meeting location can change depending on what our Scouts have chosen to do. Usually in the summer months we are at the USAFA Scout Huts and then at the American Legion Post 209 from September through May. We meet Mondays and start promptly at 6:30pm and end by 8pm. We are Scout-led and adult mentored so don't expect perfection. Mistakes help Scouts learn!

Scouts BSA Troop 77

Scouts BSA Troop 77 was founded on February 1, 2019 and is chartered by the Neil Thomas Jr. Centennial American Legion Auxiliary Unit 209. We typically meet Mondays at the historic Scout Huts* on the United States Air Force Academy and we serve families all over the Pikes Peak region!

We are a Scout-led, inclusive troop that believes in creating citizen leaders.  We are not an "Eagle factory." Troop 77 firmly believes in its members following the Scout Oath and Law at all times and demands that all members (youth and adult) insist on a strict adherence to the policies and requirements set forth by Scouting America (formerly Boy Scouts of America).

If you are interested in learning more about our Troop or to join, please fill out the contact form below!

*Due to our increasing size we have outgrown the Scout Huts, so during the dark and cold fall/winter months we will be meeting at the American Legion Post 209 until it gets warm and light enough to begin meeting outside at the Huts. Growth is never a bad problem!

Joining Requirements

Joining requirements can be confusing, but youth may not join a Scouts BSA Troop until they are at least 10 years old and in fifth grade and register on or after March 1st, OR have earned the Arrow of Light and are at least 10 years old, OR are between the ages of 11 but not yet 18.

Please check out our Join Troop 77 page on this website for additional information on our Troop!

Adults at Overnight Activities

As of September 1, 2023 all adults at Troop/unit overnight events must be registered with the unit they are staying overnight with. This means that if you are registered with another Pack, Troop, etc. but not with Troop 77, you may not chaperone. The good news is you can register with both units without paying any additional fees. For more details on this change click here.

Troop 77 at Northern Tier 2021

Troop 77 put our first high adventure in the books! We had a blast at Northern Tier in 2021. Our Sea Base 2022 video will be up soon!

Scouting is Safer than Ever!

Troop 77 is dedicated to following all policies and procedures set forth by our Charter Organization, Pathway to the Rockies Council, and Scouting America.
